Is a tailwheel endorsement required to fly a single place, tailwheel aircraft? Thanks.

And it should be very easy to get at one of the many flight schools in the L A area.
Probably take 4 hours or so.
You can do it easyily in a Citabria or Decathlon, BUT if you really want good training, not just the sign off; I suggest you find a plane where you sit in the back seat, like a J3 or Tiger Moth. And best of all perhaps a Stearman.
You may have to look, but there are a few around.
If you want to really get a good basis for tailwheel handling , work your way up to a rating in a T-6.
If you could do J3 (or Tiger) then Stearman, then T6, you would be following the way many students did it in WW II.
And of course it will cost more and take more time, but you get the training that you pay for.
And maybe ask around and find who the best CFI for this in your area is.

Not that you are one of the chosen few, try not to look too hard at those who think a 172 is the only thing to learn to fly in . They know not what they do.

Just curious, did you go all the way from L A to Ohio? Was there nothing good around where you were? And how many hours do you get for the endorsment.
