    1956 Cessna 172

Hi guys just purchase a nice old straight tail. I am looking for the dash panel overlay. If anyone can give me any info on where to find one I would appreciate it. I have been unable to find one with the correct cut outs. BTW took flying lessons about 5 years ago , got most of the way through but never finished. I am determined to finish up in this nice old bird. Thanks again,Pete

Try the salvage yards. google search "aircraft salvage" start calling.

Finding an uncut one will be like finding chicken lips.

Isn't it metal in those old birds? Like a sheet of aluminum with rolled edges and rolled cutouts for the gauges. It's a pretty straightforward fab. Even if you picked one up form salvage or wherever, there's a chance that someone stuck something in the panel of that 60 year old bird that would require you to cut or modify the overlay.

Thanks guys I found one on the 170 forum. Needs 2 holes cut in it, then it should work out fine. Yes it is metal. Take care.
