    A little more on props. if you look at a original Wright Bros prop, it is not impressive, looks very primitive. But I have read that actually their props are about 70% as effective than the best modern props. Even though they did not focus on prop design to the extent that they did wing design, after a century of devlopment even with computers and composites, the best now is only about half again as good as the Wright was. It's not that easy to best a genius, especially two of them.

    My friend Howard Pardue raced his Fury at Reno. One year someone came up with a new computer designed prop and convinced Howard to try it. He went about 10 mph slower, so went back to the factory prop.
    With top speed on the straights at Reno at 500 mph for the top unlimiteds, I think it may just be at the max props can do.
