    AirVenture App this year?

For AirVenture 2011, Sporty's sponsored a great little Android app with maps. schedules, exhibitors, etc. Any word if there will be an app for AirVenture 2012?

Hi Sawdust - too early to confirm/announce any specifics, but I can tell you that several of us will be meeting about that very topic this afternoon. We definitely want to build on the foundation that we started with last year.

Just got the updated 2012 AirVenture app on my Android phone - it's great! All the schedules, maps, etc are so helpful walking around the grounds all day. I really like the daily highlights including the mass arrivals schedules. Thank you @Hal Bryan, Sporty's, and whoever else made this happen!

One small request - any way the actual performers sequence can by put in the details of the Airshow each day on the calendar? When you tap on "Airshow" you just get the locations and overall start/end time. Maybe it's too early for that, or too fluid to count on? Would be nice to be able to open the "airshow" calendar details and see the sequence of performers to know when we want to be on the flight line.

    Thanks Again!

Pretty sure it's available on iOS as well - check your app store. Not sure if the iOS update for 2012 is released yet as I don't own any "i" products.

Just checked at 11 AM Saturday - not there for iOS; I only searched for EAA and AirVenture, so if it's categorized under something else it may be there. EAA Radio was, but nothing else.

Final official release for IOS & Android (including Kindle Fire) is about a week to ten days away, once the various app markets have approved everything.

Great! I hope you'll let us know what you think after your first visit! The app has improved considerably this year and, as long as you've got an Android or IOS phone or tablet, it should do a lot to help you find your way around.
