1,200 miles in a 100 year old airplane (replica) in 7 days

...and we didn't fly anywhere on two of those days (and OK, it's a 101 year old design now...).

Started in Pensacola on Monday March 26 (the Curtiss had lived there over the winter, after we did the airshow there last November), with three of us taking turns flying and driving the motorhome chase vehicle-- me, Mark Holliday, and owner/builder Bob Coolbaugh. Made it to Williston, FL on the first day, and then into Sun 'N' Fun on Tuesday. Display flights there on Wednesday and Thursday, and then Mark flew it up to Fantasy of Flight, where I was checking Kermit out in his new (1932) Pitcairn Autogiro. We took the Curtiss as far as Palatka, FL that night, and made it to Jim Wilson's private strip near Charleston, SC on Friday. Saturday was too windy to fly, but on Sunday we made it all the way to Jerry Yagen's museum in Virginia Beach, VA, the new home of the Curtiss. Here's a few pictures taken during the trip-

Took this one with the phone just before take-off from Jim's place

And Jim took this one a few moments later
