    Digital Aircraft Log Books

Posted over in Homebuilders Corner and figured this is probably a better forum.

    Pros? Cons?

For those that use them what software do you recommend? Lots out there but they seemed tailored to big metal operators.

I use Excel. Easy to set up a basic logbook. Very flexible. Tailored to me. I keep sign offs additionally in a plain envelope in case anybody asks. Nobody has in 50 years.

If you'd like to use a spreadsheet but don't wish to endure Microsoft's arm-twisting, there are a couple of very capable open-source (free) alternatives that would do the job admirably. Both contain a full-featured spreadsheet module.

    Open Office

    Libre Office
