    08/19/1903 This date in History

    When the whole possiblity of manned powered flight became a reality at Kill Devils Hills, NC thanks to Mssrs. Wright. In 2009 I was in Dayton and after touring the Air Force Museum there I found myself at their gravesite saying thanks. Don't know why visitors leave a coin, but I did follow suit.

    I was told that leaving a coin showed the family that their loved one was not forgotten. I was told later that if the deceased was a veteran that different coins meant different things. I don’t want to mess this up too bad, but it’s something like a nickle meant you knew them, a dime meant you were in the same service, a quarter same unit, etc. those examples are probably wrong, but you get the idea.
