Thanks for the input guys. I ended up notching, laying in another piece of capstrip and scabbing on a piece of plywood on both sides. The ribs are evenly spaced! I'm happy!

    leading edge prep question

How are you guys shaping the .020 leading edge? It appears that a piece of 3/4" pipe would be an appropriate diameter for the turn around the nose ribs. Sure am afraid of kinking it. Someone...

Thanks for the input you guys. I was starting to lean toward Wes's suggestion of securing a block just ahead of the spar and use that as an anchor. Still need to keep the water out of that as well...

Go to any Featherlite dealer. They pump on a chemical, leave it soak for 15 or 20 min and wash it off with a pressure washer. Makes them look like new and doesn't hurt the decals either.

    centersection tank cover

I'm new at this so forgive any ignorance I might display. I'm building a Hatz CB-1 and built an aluminum cover to place over the fuel tank. I've doubled the top capstrips so securing the sides is...

Kyle: Your suggestion is right on and would work however I cut a 3 11/16" spar out of 3 3/4" stock so I just didn't have enough to work with but everyone needs to know that Wicks have replaced the...

Thanks for the feed back. I needed a 3 11/16" spar out of 3 3/4" stock so there's not enough to take it out and Wes, how did you know it came from Wicks? The humidity deal could be an issue but I...

    Crooked Spar

Just opened a box of spars for a Hatz CB-1 project. The four fronts are fine but two of the rear spars have a belly in them. One is 3/16" and the other is 1/8" both being in the vertical. That'll...

Thank you Kyle. I had already decided to go with the wood leading edge and for good reason it appears.

    Hatz

Can anyone tell me why the Vne on the CB-1 is 10 mph slower than the Classic? It appears that the airplanes share the same wings and longeron mods to give a bit rounder fuselage on the Classic. Jut...
