Ummm.....how about no flights on credit? The two flight schools I went to wouldn't just let you run up a bill. You either had enough money to cover the flight in your account or you didn't fly.
Sounds like Ultralight training haha.
Seriously this is once again caused by the govt. regulation put upon each "sect" of flying.
What are you going for? Private? Sport Pilot?
I noticed you said "the" 10 hours of flight time. That's not going to be enough flight hours to get any certificate.
It's supposed to be the most efficient way to make a prop. There are lots of discussions on it but there seems to be no general consensus.
Anyone going out for the Imperial Valley Aviation Day?
My buddy and myself are going in our Ultralights. Me in my Hurricane my buddy in his T-Bird. EAA Chapter 1 will be there doing Young...
Had a lot of fun there today. There were two Trikes there when we showed up around 11AM but they took off as soon as we had parked on the ramp. Other than the Trikes we appeared to be the only...
It's gonna take some math and trust in your instruments and time hacks. Figure out what you want your descent rate to be and your cruise altitude. Using those you should be able to figure out...
Just an idea of how far some of these (RC planes) can go with "FPV" kits on them (FPV=First Person View) Some guys are using VHF/UHF controllers and video transmitters and recievers.

Everyone is tightening up their purse strings. Memberships cost money. Most of them cost around 40 dollars a year. For instance the club I'm a part of is 40 dollars a year plus the 40 to EAA which...
as it flew by in the video it looked like the gear was only partially down. So possibly mechanical malf.
I use my cell on the Hurricane. It's in a mount on the left hand side of the cockpit and I use it for foreflight and charts. I also keep a sectional or TAC on my kneeboard along with my VFR flight...
If you go the Zinc Chromate route make damn sure you wear the proper PPE.
Just a little bit of self discipline in getting into "the books" and doing some self teaching and always flying with a radio could have prevented lots of headaches over the years it sounds like.
:( Unfortunate
Sounds like there was nothing he could have done to save it at that point. Wonder if the whole rotor separated or just one blade.
My point was it's not under any airspace that I would be restricted from flying though/over as long as I didn't go east.
Flying around here in SD actually isn't too bad. The airspace I'm under at...
Lake Whitney is under no airspace at all

Nice I may have to look at picking up one of those. My field is directly under San Diego International airspace and we also get a lot of military traffic to boot including F-18s, C-130s, V-22s,...
And I'm not talking about towered airports I understand the procedures for getting access to them I'm talking about non-towered airports and airports that aren't even attended.
I ask because I was...
Do they work by picking up transponder signals?
I don't get it. That sentence didn't make any sense to me.
I was married for a few years. Never again.
Aircraft are also very limited use items for most people. While I can fit about a week or two worth of groceries on my motorcycle and haul them straight to my front door I can't accomplish such a...
It is what it is. There are few people willing to give up everything they enjoy doing for the joy of flying. While I enjoy flying immensely I wouldn't give up other aspects of my life to do it. ...
My primary ground vehicle is a motorcycle that cost me 3000 dollars. I have other things I enjoy doing besides flying and paying thousands of dollars to an instructor (which I've already done haha)....
Here are some pictures from today flying with Matt and his T-Bird.
Some fires going on. Weirdly no TFRs were issued on this as far as we can tell but the Helo and Fire Tankers were pounding it...
