See TedK's post above, it is the best advice on how to proceed that I have seen and I am sure that EAA...
Interesting article on AVWEB that talks about ANV proposal. The podcast has more discussion than the article and Greg Bowles from GAMA had some nice things to say about it. Thanks Greg!

Well said - like anything else, if people want this they are going to have to make it known. Has anyone contacted EAA / AOPA yet and willing to share the conversation?

This is same as the experimental yearly condition inspection i.e. inspected per the scope and detail of 43 appendix d and found to be in condition for safe operation.
The only unique...
Hi Mike
That is what we are trying to do here. The ANV rec would apply to the all the airplanes you listed and would allow you to do all your MX (except for the annual) by taking a class similar...
I have been getting tons of emails on this since Mac devoted one of his Blogs to the ANV recommendation.I am doing my best to keep up, but there has been a lot! (Mac called it PNC, but whats in a...

The operative word that was inserted into SARA is "certification" - the argument is going to be that the putting an airplane into ANV is not certifying it, just like when we put an aircraft...
I hear you Matt. In fact when we first started this Rec we wrote it as a new type of experimental certificate rather than a new category. However, we quickly abandoned that and went with the new ANV...
BTB, here is my best Sunday morning shot at answering your questions.
I do find it a bit curious as to why the National Ar Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA) was involved in an ARC...
Moving to Experimental Exhibition.
This is a good idea except... the problem is that if an aircraft originally held airworthiness certificate in the Standard Category, it must still me maintained...

The problem with the Canadian category is once it goes in, it basically can never come out again. In fact you even have to stamp all the rotables on the airplane as OM so they never again...
“PNC” pink airplanes…. Terrible acronym!! What we were actually going for when we were writing this was “ANV” Antique – Non Commercial – Vintage. (Some of you history buffs might also recognize ANV...
This is just so dang sad - there is literally no way to fix this. Jack was doing so dang good on other issues, then he strikes out on arguably the most important issue we have seen in decades....
I guess 20 years was long enough for me to be a member, I will not be renewing. Honestly, I realize that my EAA, Warbirds and IAC membership money is chump change to AirVenture Inc, however I bet I...
well I guess we get there from different directions Jeff, but I bet we agree on one thing. It is best not to act like a low hanging fruit.
100 percent wrong...
1. We already paid for the ATC services with our fuel taxes. Why should EAA pay again for what we already paid for.
2. Generally, when someone...
Jeff, I am not really concerned with EAA meeting my "demands" as you put it. What I am very concerned with is the future of GA. You can see from the ANN article to what extant the FAA is planning to...
See below, stolen from another thread.....
If the EAA pays these guys now, they will never go away. Make no mistake, they are testing the EAA and other organizations to see if they will blink....
Called and shut off my auto renew on my membership today (would have renewed end of this month). I do not want to renew until I see how EAA handles this issue.
Not quite the same thing Floats... Sun and Fun is a corporation that exists to put on airshows. EAA while they put on an airshow is the 2nd largest Aviation Lobbying group in the country.
Hey just for the record - I was not asking where the moral outrage against the EAA leaders is. Heck, while I have not met Hal yet, I really enjoy working with these guys and all have my utmost...
I think the idea of the poll was to give the EAA leadership an idea where the members stand as that should (well I would say must, but I will stick with should) be a BIG factor on where they go with...
I agree with Marty, I think they will back down. But, just like any other Playground Bully or Thief, you have to have the stones to stand up to them. You back down, he is just gonna shake you down...
This has been a great discussion, especially on Ron's part - but I think we may be missing the forrest through the trees here, least from my rather simplistic way of looking at it.
From my point...
