Thanks!
I'm trying to understand what a legal kit is. Does a kit supplier use a Designee of some sort, or own judgement and hope for the best, or supply a kit to the FAA, or What?
I wasn't trying to suggest the FAA could do anything about it. I'm wondering what the impact will be on startups and even smaller existing providers. Liability insurance is a cost of doing business...
This all sounds wonderful, but I wonder - how does a light sport manufacturer deal with the legal liability quagmire? EAB you build, the liability is mostly yours. So, I decide to banner tow with a...
If the changes happen as advertised, and I understand correctly, many vintage aircraft will no longer require a medical? Is that correct?
After talking to a friendly DAR with helicopter knowledge and experience he suggested certifying R&D while unmodified so that I can fly it while making changes. Then when all is settled and tested,...
Supposed to arrive next week.
Thank you. This will help a lot. I have drafted a plan, but will add some of the detail here, and probably several more items.
I have Mirocopter on order (arriving next week) and as I mentioned...
Thanks! I can build from there. May or may not get EAA document based on what I can learn about it.
Would the EAA flight test manual and test cards be at all useful for a helicopter?
It arrives crated and you have to attach the rotor blades. Doesn't sound like 50%. I imagine, I will fly it UL, visit the FSDO and go from there. Thanks for the responses.

I am very interested in the MiroCopter ultralight helicopter, BUT I would prefer to add a few things, including more fuel, a better seat, a cargo hook (for demonstration only), ADS-B out/tansponder,...
Moving on to electric helicopters :) I am really interested in the MiroCopter, will likely buy one after I have had a chance to examine it in detail. I have spent some time thinking about the...
I have started the process of equipping my 1929 Waco ATO with ADS-B out by installing a Trig transponder. One box and the antenna and I can be compliant. My concern is not a letter or phone call;...
Thanks for the update!
There are several possible solutions, but I suspect most if not all would require software changes on the ATC host systems. $$ There are other problems. A friend told me about formation flying if...
Thanks for the information! Could you describe your ADS-B out equipment? I suspect the errors are mostly when th e GPS loses lock, and some systems may have longer delay times than others, that is,...
The “problem” is just the FAA. The system will send you an error report each time it sees a failure. The FAA says it won’t take any action. So far, it hasn’t been willing to put that in writing....
Thanks Mike,
good luck!

Hate to bring this up again, but is there anything new? I am ready for ADS-B, but not a hassle. Is there just no hope that the FAA puts something in writing?
I have a feeling it won't for some of the selected teams. Not sure if they have backups selected, if they would just go with fewer teams, or open to new applicants.
In case anyone is wondering, the 15 teams were announced on December 7(http://vintageairrally.com/rallies/upcoming/ushuaia2usa), but the rally departure has been moved to November 1, 2018.
In case anyone is wondering the decision on the 15 finalists from the 60 on the shortlist was delayed. Still waiting, but should be out this week, maybe. The finalists will be scrambling to get...
I do realize that there is more to airplane performance than the airfoil.
The M6 does have some unique characteristics that affect some types of landing. The M6, in comparison to a Clark Y,...
Thanks, showing my ignorance.
