I had mice get inside the lower left wing of my Starduster Too. They chewed all the ribstitch cord. All of it in less than a couple of weeks in the winter between flights. I found it during a...
My (former-sold it Wednesday) Swift has flashing nav lights. It has been that way since 1985. Understand they came from factory that way.
You can see them flashing in video below.

I'll let others take the controls, especially on Young Eagles flights...and explain what the are doing. I'll take controls of another if they ask, especially if something I've never flown. However,...
The only time I carry my EAA card is for Oshkosh. Even then don't carry my Vintage card. Don't carry my AOPA or NRA or any other membership cards other than Costco.

It works! Thanks, Hal.

I was surprised to get an email notice of a response to a thread from this forum. I've basically dropped this forum because I cannot use Tapatalk on it. I infrequently will get on a computer and...
Changing money from your pocket to theirs.
That is what all those guys are saying too. Do you wanna turn-in your medical now and quit or go LSA?
Stereotyping sucks, huh?
Registrations and Airworthiness Certificates are separate items. Registrations expire. Airworthiness cents don't.
Everything I've heard and seen agrees with what Ron has said. I can certainly appreciate the disappointment of many though. This isn't what all had hoped for, but it is going to be a pretty big...
Now can we just get back to the normal print magazine size. I really dislike the larger format. It is just too big and floppy.
LSA gross is 1320#. A 1946 J-3C max gross is 1220# per TCDS. I'm unaware of any weight increase STC other than pre-war Cubs with 1100 and 1170# gross which brings them up to 1220#. All the added...
Current Secretary of Transportation, Anthony Foxx, entered office July 2013. Former Mayor of Charlotte, NC. 2009-2013.
OSH is the main reason for renewal. Hoping to fly my RV-4 in this year. Took my Cub in 2012...ten hours each way.
SEN Inhofe seemed to think the legislation should be passed by end of May. DOT/FAA recalcitrance might help give it a push along. I'm still expecting I'll have to renew my third class which expires...
Thanks for the update, Hal. Bummer it still isn't working for this board. I'm on the others where it seems to be working okay again.

Any idea if EAA is ever going to re-enable Tapatalk? Sure made forum access easier for me. I know everyone missed my keen intellect and wisdom.
I use Tapatalk almost exclusively to access this group. I finally logged in on iPad and saw this thread. Any idea when things might return to normal?
Most all ag pilots wear helmets. Many airshow acro performers wear helmets. Lots of warbird pilots wear helmets (fighters/trainers). Racer pilots typically wear helmets too.
It also frequently leaves an oily mess on the airplane which needs wiped off.
Just think of the negative return on investment in your airplane. Seems the market is drying up on many antiques. Younger folks with means don't seem nearly as interested as the old geezers I grew...
Sorry to hear this Bill. Unfortunately, the longer we fly, the longer the list of lost friends grows. Sad.
The bad was I had to cancel my plans to attend this year. Flew my Cub up in 2012 and had a blast. I used an electric scooter which made my attendance possible. I'm a disabled vet having suffered a...
Seems back in the late 70s, there were various showcase/display flights throughout the day. There was also a time anyone who wish to go fly and made circuits around the field could do so.
The...
