USUA ultralight registration lets you get insurance, which you can get through USUA.
If it's an old fashioned carbon or dynamic microphone, polarity shouldn't matter. If it's a modern electret mike, polarity will matter.
It didn't do it before?
I never weighed mine, but Mosler gave 85# as the weight of their half VW engines. "Weights include all attached accessories and complete induction and ignition systems, but do not include exhaust...
If it runs fine at full throttle it's unlikely to be the fuel filter. Look at the accelerator pump, if you have one... what kind of carburetor is it?
Also, aircraft can move horizontally around an elevated plane (an "air" plane, as opposed to the ground plane).
"If it bleeds, it leads."
Actually the article was surprisingly reasonable (credit to Ron, of course), considering that the Daily Mail is a sensationalistic tabloid rag. That said, it's somewhat...
In many cases you can negotiate with the insurance company. When I bought my Hatz, the underwriter (through Falcon) wanted 5 hours dual with a CFI who had 10 hours in type. I pointed out the near...
When I bought my Fisher 404 the altimeter and ASI just vented behind the panel. The ASI was quite inaccurate at any airspeed other than 100 mph (which was over the aircraft's Vne!), and then the...
And, the pressure in the cockpit can change significantly (or not) depending on the aircraft's attitude and airspeed. The error may or may not be enough to matter.
How 'bout a scatter chart of the ages (or build date) for each aircraft?
You have to be in the forum you want to post in, not the "new posts" display or in an existing thread.

There is no inherent reason why an electronic wrench should be any less accurate than a clicker or beam wrench; it's all about the quality. Both can get out of calibration if misused. A beam wrench...
There is a lot of talk about the A-plane, but there seem to be very few actually flying, which may tell you something. There are questions about its ability to actually meet the part 103 weight...
Hand thrown parachutes were once available, but I don't think anybody makes them any more, except for smaller ones for paragliders and hang gliders.
And often, they respond... though the response is often, "The FAA disagrees."
That's already true; sport pilots can already fly older aircraft like Cubs, T-Crafts, etc., without a medical. The proposed changes remove the 1320# weight limit and open it up to include many more...
Gibson & Barnes also makes leather and cloth helmets to fit a variety of headsets. I suspect that's what mine are though I'm not certain; they came with the plane.
I also have a set of RAF style...
I suspect another reason for not wanting is unattended chairs is to keep people from dropping a chair and "claiming" a prime viewing spot before wandering around.
The tension in the wires is still pulling the wings inward from the outer ends, nothing's pulling them outwards. The inner ends are attached to the fuselage and cabane struts, no different from the...
What are you using for "D"?
F = 4DT/L where T is tension, D is deflection, and L is cable length.
So for 1" deflection at 1000# cable tension, you would need 32# force to get 1" deflection. ...
I won't say which is which either...

Of course, if you count all the LSA-compliant EAB and standard category aircraft...
The 503 is a very good engine, probably better than any other engine in its power / weight class. The 582 is similarly reliable if you want a bit more power. Being 2-strokes, they do require care...
They could have come off a Jenny; in the 20s a pilot with a broken wheel might throw on anything he could find. You might ask over on the Aerodrome forum where the WWI experts hang out.
