Get rooms now, and work on the RV to fly in!

Not for 2019, but 2021, plan on having a beer when I pass your consecutive attendance mark.
I’m hoping to drink another bottle of your scotch, but hopefully with you there next time!
I booked my motel room for 2019 on the Wednesday during Airventure 2018 - good thing I did too, only 2 rooms were left, and the place is a full 50 miles from the event. Yes there are motels closer and some right nearby, but paying over $275+ a night is kinda out of my budget plan for the 9 days of volunteering- lol
Hey, Randy. I missed you this year. I arrived Saturday morning, rode the trams. Then I rode the trams. I rode the trams some more. Then, after riding the trams I went home Friday morning. Never saw or heard a single joke. Sad. Maybe next year when I show up again and ride the trams. Thanks for volunteering!!! And, I will donate a boom box for Jerry's One Man Band Corner.
I worked the late morning and afternoon/evening shifts, roughly from 11:00am to 8:00pm on the Blue, Yellow or Red routes. It varied day to day. Hope to see you next year.
And for those feeling tram remorse at not hearing any of my crummy jokes:
"I found out from a country friend why a chicken coop only has two doors... if it had four doors it would be a chicken sedan."
[ATTACH] A friend sent me this shot, hopefully 2019 arrivals will be a little better.
I would love to see someone purchase the Pima B-36 get it airworthy and bring it to Oshkosh! Tall order I know but imagine what a sight that would be. Flying lead with Doc and Fifi on the wings. Pretty sure That would sell some tickets! Another thing I would love to see is the SR-71. Maybe NASA has one still flying I’m not sure but I would love to see it! It would be awesome to see some things that aren’t there every year. That’s what made last year so amazing- Doc and Fifi, the B-1, B-2 and B-52- that was the best show I’ve ever been to. 1990 was pretty amazing too with the F-117. This year the Raptors, F-15’s, F-5’s, F-18’s, C-17, Mustangs, Corsairs, Doc and the B-17’s were absolutely awesome. Hopefully next year is even better with some truly amazing!
What Aircraft do you guys want to see at 2019 Oshkosh? Barring a B-36 or a Blackbird, I would love to see a P-47 Thunderbolt! I didn’t see one this year. What’s on your wishlist for next year?
Other than my own plane, of course...I would like to see the XP-82!
P-39, P-63 real Zero, FW-190, BF-109.
I'd like to see Tora Tora Tora do a few re-enactments.
XP-82 would be awesome and yea I miss the Tora Tora Tora re-enactment! The Harkers have an F-82E Twin Mustang here in Minnesota. It will be at Oshkosh in 2019! I can’t wait to see it in Oshkosh! Plus 1 for sure on the real Zaro, FW-190, BF-109, P-39 and P-63! All awesome and amazing to see! I would love to see the Martin Mars Make a return visit as well!
Wish I could have seen the Yak-110. Saw it fly during one of the air shows, but was not able to find it to view up close. I attended the forum on the Yak-110 build on Wednesday at the IAC building, and I know one of the guys said where it was parked, but still was not able to find it.
I would like to see the BIG 6 engine Russian Cargo plane at Oshkosh .
Some Soviet humor: A friend who is an EAA and warbird member some years back was in the Navy and flying intercepts off a carrier of the Russian "Bear" turboprob long range bombers that routinely cruised off the U S coast and probably were packed with electronic spy gadgets and recon radar etc. It was pretty routine, the Russian crews knew the U S fighters were coming and we knew and no one wanted to do something dumb and start a war. In fact they had a common radio frequency and could talk to each other, plane to plane. The Russians were still a bit full of it during the cold war, and blustery. So my friend pulls up of the wing of the Bear, and their pilots are looking out the window and he says on the radio. "Are you guys lost, you're a long way from home," the Russian comes back, " You soft Americans, you go home every night and drink Coca Cola." This trash talk goes on for awhile, could be Barkely and Magic, until the American pilot says, "If everything is better in Russia, How about the Russian women? " The Russian pilot comes back, now in a subdued tone, "You got me there Yank, Russian women not too good."
I read that there will be an F-35 demonstration team next year. They will be at the Milwaukee Air & Water Show on July 27 & 28.
Any chance of an exhibition at our convention earlier in the week?

That also puts two significant aviation events pretty close on the same weekend and it's the same in 2020. Is that expected to affect weekend attendance at Oshkosh?
I'm a bit surprised there has been no news so far this year concerning next year's AirVenture, except for a Nov. 21 item concerning the Homebuilt area.

With the holiday season coming on this means it will probably be the end of January before we learn of any themes, anniversaries, special invitees, etc. That's another month and more of being curious!
I've booked my airfares from Australia and my accommodation at the U of W (Oshkosh) for 2019, so here's my wish list. The EAA should have some leverage with the historic and WWII aircraft community, so could persuade a few of them to bring their aircraft to Oshkosh 2019: Cobra (Air- or King-, preferably both types), P-47 Jugs (as many as possible), some of the 'planes that the Virginia Beach mob display at their excellent shows (-262, -109, Hurricane, Spit, Mossie, -190, Spad). Sprinkle it all with a few vintage jets (Vampire, Meteor, MiG / Lim, F4, TA / A4... ) and pretty-much everyone would go home satisfied. :) This Aussie certainly would...
Can't Wait!

I would love to see old and new historic aircraft like Columbine II, White Knight or White Night II from Mojave, A P-47 as someone else mentioned, an F104 Starfighter, F111 aardvark (are there any still flying?) and another appearance by the Tigercats.
With the 50th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing on the Saturday before OSH (July 20th), I am hoping there is some recognition and maybe even an Apollo reunion of sorts...
