Exactly what the title says...long story short,I had planned on going for the week,then had a few things come up,and now again looks like I should be able to go at least for a night or two. Thinking about just throwing an air mattress in the back of my Tahoe and calling it good. Anyone else done this before?

Sure. There's every variation of “camping” in Camp Scholler from rube goldberg tarps to traditional tents, rooftop tents, pops, campers, RVs, mansions on wheels taking up 50 by 50 camping spots with their dually plus toad.
Been there and done that. Slept nice and cozy in the back of my van (took the seats out) and under a truck topper.
Did it in the bed of my truck in the 80's.
