Still on the Bucket List
Been flying for nigh on fifty years and ain't made it to the bash yet. Tried again this year but should'a made reservations last year. Oh well, figured $2400 to fly my bird round trip, hotel at another $1000, tickets at $220, and food, and rental car and... Well it's still on the list. "Old Yeller" ain't give up yet. LOL!!

Maybe you need to find someone(relative/ whoever) to carpool with & just drive up this year? I'd think you can trim that cost some, even 2-3 full days would be great.

I was just trying to make light of the costs associated with going to AirVenture. Like most event of any scale, the costs continue to spiral upward; even a movie costs a family nearly $100 today. I'm always concerned about the financial hurdels our students face when trying to learn to fly. One of my favorite activities is our Young Eagles Program and what it offers these kids.

Camp on-site with your aircraft and save that $1,000 on hotel. It's more fun to camp on the field anyway. :)
