I’m stripping down an old Lycoming O-320 case to send to the case shop and can’t get out the conical rubber engine mounts. Any tips? I tried prying and pulling with pliers.

It looks like the rubber may have been inserted into a metal sleeve which was pressed into the aluminum housing. Perhaps cut off the rubber on one end and dig out the rest of it with a scredriver or similar and the using a punch collapse. The metal sleeve and pull it out ????.
Try a little isopropyl alcohol as a lubricant.
Finally got it out by using a propane torch on the rubber.
