Zack, do you have any idea of who is going to fly it? Not many people current on Mossi, the only one that I know for sure who has flown one in recent times is Kermit and his has been inactive for years.
And, once again the Jen/Zack party was the highlight of the week, loved the blimp flyovers. Thanks
When are you coming out this way, it is beautiful in Sept.

Zack, you get to see one any time you desire! A Mosquito is very near restoration completion for flight in Victoria, British Columbia. Check out www.mossie.org for other restoration locations.
I grew up about 10 minutes away from Dehavilland Canada at Downsview Airport in Toronto where most of the Mossies were built during WW2.
Mosquito KA114 is definitely going to take to the air in the next few days. The Avspecs team ran both engines yesterday, with more runs and taxi trials over this weekend.

There is an Open day at Ardmore next weekend which should be its first public outing, and probably only NZ display before it heads to Jerry's collection. The nominated test pilots are Keith Skilling (well known in warbird circles, flying aircraft of the OMFC etc), and Dave Phillips, who owns / flies NZs only Hunter jet fighter and is also known for his incredible DH Tiger Moth displays. Avspecs manager Wal Denholm will be flight engineer. The quality of this rebuild has to be seen to be believed - it is absolutely beautiful!
The mosquito was successfully test flown this morning NZ time - an incredible achievement!
Great news!
Congrats to all, well done, you must be so proud! Bring the Mossy to Oshkosh, there are about 600,000 that would love to see a few high speed on the deck passes and 90 degree pullups.
Lots of comment and photos on this link:

very exciting day in the NZ aviation world - not much work done today!
I was very pleased to be able to see this aircraft fly several times at an Air show at Ardmore over the weekend. You have to look out for this machine when it heads back to the States - it is really something!
