I was gonna start this thread up but you beat me to it!
I know I'm ready. Seems like in the past they were up and running much sooner. It'd be nice to have the year round cams at pioneer back as well.
They are put up as soon as the volunteer crew that puts them up has the time to get on site and do so.
And of course, they're not very interesting until whoever raises the pylons gets them up as well.
In past years the towers usually get raised around the first week of July.
The cameras go online shortly after the towers are raised.
So I would say sometime during the 2nd week of July.
Hi everyone, we're estimating the web cams will go live in mid-July. We'll have a more precise idea next week.
Actually one of the recent years had the camera live on the pylon while it was still lying on the ground. Like I said, it's not very interesting that way.
Oh Lord...grant me patience..... and I want it NOW!!!!!
I want my webcams and I want 'em NOW!!!
This Video might calm your nerves a bit.
Here is a quick look at the show grounds. July 8 2019 at 3:32 PM
I guess it was Live and at 7:40 into video he says he will be Live again around the same time on July 15 2019.

I hope this isn't a sign there's a problem that might effect having web cams at all. I've been peeking in for years and if I remember right, they're usually up by now
Rest assured, we will be having web cams this year. We're simply waiting on our volunteer web cam team to get them in place and up and running. Thanks for your patience!
I’m checking on the webcams too, I’ve been checking several times every day for several days now!

They were up on the 16th in 2018.
These are Live but at the moment, like watching paint dry.

Hmm. I still don’t see anything, from the EAA website link?

I just checked, and still no WebCams are up.

Don't know who the narrator is or what the're driving, but when they, gooched it a little, it sounded pretty good. BTW, I thought there would be a lot of aircraft there already, oh well. What does Camp Scholler look like at this time ?

Wondering about Todd Ritzman, the volunteer who has been so great about keeping us informed about the webcams for several years.
For years I've enjoyed watching the planes arrive and all the tents and buildings spring up. I really miss it. The rolling tour shows the way finder towers are up so that's no longer a valid excuse. I'm willing to bet the web cams have gone the way of the museum cameras that would be "right back" 4 - 5 years ago.
Next year when the EAA comes schlepping around for my money to join their organization, I will ask them when the webcams will be up.
Disappointed.
I have faith they’ll be up, although I am surprised it’s this late- but as the video posted yesterday shows, there really isn’t much to see yet. I just checked again and they’re still not up. One surprise from the video yesterday was that I think I saw the big homebuilt tower thing they’re normally on up already, so maybe we’ll see something soon?

To all those here lamenting the fact that, with only 5 days left to the start of Oshkosh, the webcams are not being erected or close to operational, doesn't it seem curious to you that no EAA staff member and /or monitor has provided an update on the the issue as promised since July 12. To date, they are silent and gone dark.
In the absence of an updated informed response this close to start date, one might feel reasonable and logical to conclude that the webcams may not be this year. The mind conjures up all kinds of disparate thinking and opinions in the void of any real, truthful information.
Staff update here was July 12.
"doesn't it seem curious to you that no EAA staff member and /or monitor has provided an update on the the issue as promised since July 12."

There may be one or two EAA staffers that actually listen to this forum (titled EAA Forums), and probably fewer than those two who care or can actually influence change, so, why would "they" speak up.
As my wife says, "It is what it is."
Sad, but, we keep giving them our money.
The cameras are now up and running. The links on Airventure's website don't seem to be correct.

The website is now updated, we can all breathe a sigh of relief: https://www.eaa.org/airventure/eaa-a...enture-webcams
Thank you EAA staff and volunteers for all that you do! For those of us that attend Airventure regularly, we recognize the massive amount of work and resources that goes into making this event so great! I was out there this past Sunday/Monday in Camp Scholler. I saw a total of 3 planes, all in Vintage (assume they are volunteers). As mentioned several times throughout this thread, nothing too interesting is occurring right now, so putting the webcams task towards the end is completely understandable, plus it reduces the wear/tear on the equipment and other maintenance requirements.
We are headed back out Friday, flying in, and will be volunteering this weekend to hopefully help with plane parking. Safe travels to everyone who will be attending!
Drilling down to the webcams through EAA’s website doesn’t work unless you choose the watch through YouTube path. It would be good if the main link took you to something that worked.would be mice
Hooray! Thank you for getting these up and running and fixing the website links, we all appreciate it and all you do!

Should be only some arrivals on Thursday. A bunch on Friday.
