I'm going to visit my sister and her family in Florida the week of Thanksgiving. She suggested that I bring my wing for beach flying, which I've never done before. I know all the 103 regs that I have to follow while in the air, but I don't want to run afoul of any local regulations while on the ground. I will probably call the local sheriffs office before I go, just be be sure, but I'm wondering if there is anybody here who regularly flies beaches in the US, or particularly in Florida. Is there anything in particular I should know?

Good idea to call the Sheriff. It’s not legal in my county (Walton).

Somebody on the ppgbiglist Yahoo group will know. A number of FL beaches have been closed to ppg flying due to the actions of a few idiots. Others have rules that must be followed so the locals don't lose their flying site.
