So for a application I am submitting for this high school competition, one essay involves talking about a song verse that means the most to you, and represents you. I wanted to use an aviation song, as aviation is one of my biggest passions in life. I would love to hear what some of yalls favorite aviation or flying songs are! :)

The theme from "Firefly": "Burn the land and boil the sea, you can't take the sky from me...."

Al Stewart's "Flying Sorcery" is pretty good, too....

One of my favorite themes (and shows) Ron - great choice!

And a couple from the vastly-underrated "Commercial Aviation Psychedlia" genre:

I wanted to use an aviation song, as aviation is one of my biggest passions in life. :)

You should google Ken Dravis and see if you can find some of his aviation music. He has some good ones.

I love "Danger Zone" by Kenny Loggins. It was in Top Gun. On my way to airshows, I play this song all the time. (:

Anything on the "Song Pilot" album by Dwayne O'Brien (http://acespilotshop.com/pilot-supplies/pilot_gifts/song_pilot.htm). Ed Kilbourne's "Cloudbase" CD (http://www.edkilbourne.com/store.html) about flying gliders (he has another CD of flying music but I've never heard it). Lenny Kravitz' Fly Away. A few other good songs already mentioned.

My favorite is not so Pithy as the above but I love it none-the-less.

The opening melody/song has hung with me for all these years. I don't know why.

Sorry 'bout the German overdub; this was all I could snag quickly...

Second "Danger Zone" except for U tube videos...

A Perfect Circle, Vanishing-http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wuwHlFikmTs

Not sure if its about flying, it probably isn't, but some of the lyrics sound like it, "higher into the air." Plus it's one of those songs that's both relaxed and intense at the same time, makes me think of flying.
