Friends send me stuff about old airplanes. Here are a few.

This is Freeman Field 1945 airshow: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=1723870789084%0D

Bob-

Very cool, thanks for sharing. Note the Ju290 at the start, I'm guessing that was the only one that got over here, too bad nobody thought to preserve one of each of these types. Also the B32 which is probably mistaken for a B29 by the casual observer!!

Cheers, Tony

Tony,
Thanks for telling me what that monster at the start was. And I am a casual observer that can't tell a B29 from a B32, thanks again. But can you tell me who the 4 star general was at about 10:00 or so. And who was the civilian that preceded him into the staff car at about 10:29?

You did it Tony. You got me chasing around on Google to find out what a Ju-290 was. I found an account of "ALLES KAPUT" (US nose art) being surrendered to the US and ferried to the US. It set a set a speed record and beat Hap Arnold's C54 by 30 min on the Bermuda-Wright Pat leg. Read it here: http://falkeeins.blogspot.com/2011/02/how-celebrated-junkers-ju-290-alles.html
I now know more about the JU-290 than I need to. I wish I was on that trip. Bob
