In addition to aviation, I dabble in electronics. One of the companies I sometimes buy parts from is a small outfit in Colorado called Sparkfun Electronics. They posted a story earlier this month about a visit that a few of their engineers made to Scaled Composites, and I thought everyone here might be interested in reading it. There are a number of very interesting pictures as well.

Here's the link (http://www.sparkfun.com/news/700).

There are a couple of photos in the story of an experimental called the Skyjacker. Here's a link (http://books.google.com/books?id=tQAAAAAAMBAJ&lpg=PA82&dq=Skyjacker%20aircraft&pg=PA82#v=onepage&q=Skyjacker%20aircraft&f=false) to an April 1978 Popular Science article on the aircraft.

Enjoy!

Here are a few more of the Skyjacker that I shot a few weeks ago during a long road trip. Had a stop at Mojave, but it was just after 5pm and the airport was a virtual ghost town. Not a soul in sight! Very odd and a bit eery. In any case, here are the pics, which were of course shot through a fence.

"Had a stop at Mojave, but it was just after 5pm and the airport was a virtual ghost town. Not a soul in sight! Very odd and a bit eery."I think that's a pretty good description of Mojave at all times!

Did the Skyjacker ever fly? It looks to be in very good shape!

Yes. The PopSci article linked above has a couple of in-flight photos and some info about its flying qualities.
