10-10-22, that is 10 years, 10 months and 22 days since receiving my first kit shipment to getting my airworthiness certificate. The aircraft had it's first flight on October 4th. Special thanks to my family for putting up with me. Also thanks to my long time friend Roger Evenson for helping me buck thousands of rivets. To EAA Tech Counselor Gil Alexander for helping me get started and special thanks to Chris Sands who helped me get finished. Also to Chris Droege for great transition training. The plan was for Chris Sands to do the first flight since he is an experienced RV builder and flyer. He did so and the plane flew so nice I jumped in after and did my first flight. The plane weighed in at 1062 pounds and is powered by a O-360 and a Catto 3 blade prop. The panel is a GRT EFIS and EIS, with Garmin Audio panel, dual SL-40's and transponder. Also a Tru-Track auto pilot. Behind the panel is a a Nav-Works ADS/B and Vertical Power unit.

I am sorry, I did not do that, I think I would have reached the end of the internet if I had, it took me so long.......

Congrats!

And it's not "yet another" RV....it's your RV, which makes it special.

CONGRATULATIONS Glenn!

I appreciated your write up as well. For those still building, take note of Glenn's getting transition training. It is so worth it.

If you send me a few photos I'll pass them along for our What Our Members are Building section in the magazine. (cbecker@eaa.org)

I wish....I will be working, and I have an EFIS issue that is going to keep me grounded for a couple of weeks.

Charlie, you are so right to note the transition training comment. My insurance company actually told me they would not require me to do any because of my experience, but that was out of the question for me. It was worth every penny. I would highly recommend both the training, and Chris Droege in particular if you are going to fly an RV. I am headed back to work but will get you some photos in the next couple weeks, I appreciate that offer.

Happy to update and report that my flight from Tucson to Oshkosh and back in the RV was smooth and event free. What a great feeling after all these years to land and take off at OSH.
