There is an interesting, to me, thread (A Vortex Tied in Knots) on Linked In that I would like help with.

The link mentions that the wing tip trailing vortex may convert from a straight line vortex to a series of ring vortices under certain conditions. I have seen this happen during an airshow demonstration; specifically at OSH about 5 years ago during a Hawker Harrier routine, I believe, with wing tip smoke at the bottom of a loop. What I am looking for is photo documentation that this can or does occur. Any additional information or assistance would be appreciated. Please help spread the word. Also, I would like a schedule for the Harrier bookings.

Here you go. Seafury with smoke generators on wing tips.

I remember sometime in the late 70's when Frank Sanders came to Oshkosh with the 2 seat Hawker Seafury with smoke generators under the wing tips. When he did he aerobatic routine, you could watch the smoke pull apart and join together with the other wing to form elongated rings in areas, and in other areas it would bunch together into knots. That was very enlightening, and a crowd pleaser.

Thanks. I like the video. It is a big help but still it does not show exactly what I was looking for. Any other references would be of interest. I did have the name wrong. I did not think it was a Seafury but obviously it was. Is he still flying the routine?
