Just purchased a 1987 Glasair 1 tail dragger and love it. I need to replace the wooden propeller on it though. Anyone have any advice on what I should go with? The motor is a Lycoming IO 320 160 hp.

Give Craig Catto a call at Catto Propellers.

Hey Ed, What kind of performance do you get with the Ed Sterba prop? Do you have an IO-320 as well?

I can second the notion for Catto...I put one on my RV-7 and it's a GREAT prop! Sterba's are great too...just don't have experience flying behind one.

Next time I'm flying, I'll write down some performance numbers. I still have wing root fairings to build, and then paint. The rt wing is a little heavy, have to build some kind of aileron trim.

After rerigging flight controls and other work, I took her up for a flt ck. At 2300 rpm and 23" the gps showed 178, two way average, at about 75f, and 3500'. It was too rough to do a full throttle ck. How does this compare? O-320 lyc.
